Apparently, the actor, who was on the location of a movie set in
Ibadan when the news broke out, could not control his emotions, Movie
Moments report.
It was gathered that Baba Suwe returned to Lagos on Thursday, July
10, 2014, after completing his scenes in the movie to commiserate and
pay his condolence to the family
of the late Aturu.
The human rights lawyer and activist Bamidele Aturu died on Wednesday, July 9 in a Lagos hospital after battling an undisclosed illness.
It would be recalled in October 2011 Baba Suwe was arrested by the
NDLEA at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, on his way to
Paris, France, after testing positive to drug ingestion.
Bamidele
Aturu was Baba Suwe’s counsel, who helped the actor drag the NDLEA to
court, suing for N100m damages for the unlawful detention which led to
public humiliation.
Aturu was well-known for picking up and fighting for human rights
causes. He was a founding member of Democratic Alternative, a political
group committed to pursuing deep-rooted democratic principles.
He reportedly turned down his nomination as a member of the on-going
National Confab, explaining that the conference was designed to achieve
nothing.
